Sheriff Foster states, “My office is dedicated to protecting all children. This person believed he was talking to a child in Buchanan County, and that could have been any child here. It just turns out it was an undercover investigator he was talking to. And it was an added bonus that we assisted in getting a lot of illegal drugs off the streets in America.” Sheriff Foster also adds, “I would like to thank the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office, Allen County Sheriff’s Office, Lima Police Department and the Auglaize/Mercer County Grand Lake Drug Task Force in Ohio for their assistance in the capture of this criminal.”

Wachauf remains in the Auglaize County Correctional Center in Ohio. He has waived extradition and will be brought back to Buchanan County Virginia to answer to the charges in the near future.
